The “Images of Remembrance” exhibition has been hanging in the foyer of the Max Mannheimer Haus since Friday 21 April. Together with the MDSM / IJBS International Youth Meeting Centre in Oświęcim, a German-Polish youth exchange took place last week. 10 students from the Gymnasium Markt Indersdorf and 10 students from two Polish schools took part and spent the week at the Max Mannheimer House. For the pictures in the exhibition, the young people captured their impressions from visits to the concentration camp memorial and the former plantation in photographs and then hung them up. Ullrich Schmitt from the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich offered a workshop on cyanotypes. Participants were allowed to create their own pictures using this method. The pictures were also integrated into the exhibition.
The exhibition will be on display in the foyer until the end of May and can be viewed. The youth encounter was funded by the German-Polish Youth Office as part of the “Paths of Remembrance” programme.
